Safe, supportive riding experiences for children at every stage.

At The Chestnut Stables, just outside King’s Lynn, we offer age-appropriate riding sessions that grow with your child. Whether your little one is meeting ponies for the very first time or getting ready for group lessons through the BHS Pony Stars programme, our pathway supports every rider with care, confidence and fun.

👶 Toddler Trot (Ages 2–3)

£30 per session + £5 safety equipment hire

🕐 30-minute session | One-to-One Only

A gentle, play-based introduction to ponies for our littlest riders.

Each session includes 15 minutes of sensory pony care (brushing, patting, decorating) followed by up to 15 minutes of a fully supported pony ride. There’s no pressure to finish the full ride—our focus is confidence, comfort and creating positive first experiences.

What’s Included:

• One-to-one instructor attention
• Sensory grooming and pony interaction
• Fully led pony ride with play-based engagement
• Optional safety equipment hire: £5 per session

🛑 Maximum riding time: 15 minutes. Sessions are flexible to suit each child’s focus and energy.

🐾 Mini Riders (Ages 3–5)

£38 per session + £5 safety equipment hire

🕐 30-minute session | Private or Semi-Private

Ready to wobble less and steer a little more?

Mini Riders is a gentle step up for young children developing balance, focus and early control in the saddle. These sessions blend hands-on pony care with guided riding games to support early riding confidence and skill.

What’s Included:

• 10–15 minutes of pony care (grooming, leading, safety basics)
• Up to 20 minutes of structured riding with support
• Tailored one-to-one or small group instruction
• Optional safety equipment hire: £5 per session

🧢 Young Riders Club (Ages 5–12)

£28 for 30-minute group riding lesson + £12 for pony care session

📘 Follows the BHS Pony Stars Programme

Our Young Riders Club is where confidence really grows.

Children aged 5–12 join weekly group sessions that combine a 30-minute riding lesson with a structured pony care activity, all based on the nationally recognised BHS Pony Stars programme.

Each child progresses through themed badgework while learning real horsemanship skills in a fun, social setting—with ponies that match their size, confidence and ability.

What’s Included:

• 30-minute group riding lesson: £28
• Weekly pony care session (30–90 mins by age): £12
• BHS Pony Stars badgework and progression
• Friendly group setting, grouped by age and experience
• Riding school and own-pony riders welcome

🌟 Children begin at Shetland Striders and progress through Dartmoor Dazzlers, Welshie Wizzers, and Connemara Champs!
