🐴 Introduction to Dressage – 30-Minute Lesson

This friendly, flatwork-only session is ideal for beginners, newer riders, or those returning to riding after a break.

  • Learn how to start, stop, and steer

  • Build confidence handling ponies and horses

  • If safe and appropriate, riders may be introduced to trot

More experienced riders are welcome to use this session to:
– Improve position and balance
– Refine the use of leg, seat, and rein aids
– Begin learning school movements or simple lateral work

🧠 Learn the building blocks of dressage — control, balance, and communication — in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

📋 Session Details & Viewing

⏱ This 30-minute session includes mounting and dismounting – please arrive 10 minutes early for safety equipment fitting.
📍 Lessons for riders under 40kg (usually children on ponies) take place in our small arena, which is visible from the car park.
🐎 If a larger mount is needed, the session will take place in our large arena, which has no standard viewing access.
👀 Viewing can be arranged on request, but this must be mentioned at the time of booking.

🚫 We only allow riders onto the yard. Parents must be confident their child will be happy to participate independently.

🐎 About Our Horses

Please note: Our horses are well-schooled and responsive to light, correct aids, especially those that come from the rider’s seat and core.
Riders used to more laid-back or traditional riding school horses may notice a difference in feel. Don’t worry — our instructors will support you in adjusting to their way of going so you can get the most from your ride.
